Today is our last Scrap Busting Extravaganza post! Can you believe it?! I have soooo loved seeing everyone’s scrap busting projects.
Our special guest today is the sweet Steph from Crafting in the Rain!
Steph is so talented! She can do it all! She just had a super fun Crafting A-Z month on her blog – lots of inspiration for Craft Month! Today Steph is sharing this Colorful Scrap Striped Card – it’s perfect for all those paper scraps you have saved.

Hey everyone, I’m excited to be here today! My scrapbusting project was one I made to use up some leftover pieces of paper that weren’t really big enough to use for anything else. The result is a colorful stripy card that would brighten up anyone’s day.
Start by using a cutting machine to cut a white card with a shape or word in it (what’s great is you can customize this technique for any kind of card.)
Cut another piece of cardstock just smaller than the front of the card.
Cut colored paper into thin strips. Mine were about 3/8 inch wide, but this can vary. I then cut them about 5 inches long….long enough to span the front of the card.
Glue the paper strips on the extra piece of cardstock.
Then glue to the inside of the card so all the colors show through. Super easy, right? With the white card is was best to use brighter/deeper colors. I’d love to try this with a really dark cardstock, then use lighter strips, or even more pattern. You just want to make sure there’s good contrast between the card and the layer underneath.
So, what do you think? If you make a card with your paper scraps, we’d love to see it!
Here are a few of Steph’s projects that I just love:
Gold Paint and Wood Bead Necklace
Steph thank you so much for being a part of the Scrap Busting Extravaganza!!
