Our Christmas Pinterest Party with Cutie Printables!

Don’t you love Christmas parties??

I mean – regular parties are pretty awesome. But Christmas parties are the best. Cuter decorations, cuter food, cuter outfits, you name it.

I’ve posted before about the Pinterest Party group I’m a part of - we trade off hosting the party every time.
Well this month it was my turn – I got to host the Christmas party! Woot!

We usually have lots of food and time to craft – everyone brings a treat to share.
And something super fun this time – I used adorable Christmas printables from the Hostess with the Mostess to decorate the treat table with!

I made Triple Chocolate Peppermint Brownies – from A Pumpkin and a Princess’ recipe. YUMMMM.  I decorated them with these sweet little treat flags from the set. They were super easy – you just print and cut them out – then fold them in half. We used double-sided tape to stick them around toothpicks.

I will confess that I love printables like this. When I’m doing all the planning and cleaning and stressing and everything else that goes into party prep – it’s soooo nice to be able to print out sweet little things for the party - it’s definitely one less thing to worry about!

The set came with some little tent cards – for labeling all the goodies on the table.
(Seriously – how cute is that little Santa!!)

I also used the full paper designs to make plate liners. I just printed them out and cut them in a circle for the center of the plate!

We always do crafting – as well as eating. :) This time we made gorgeous Glittered Pear ornaments  – also by A Pumpkin and a Princess (she’s awesome!!)

We had a few colors of glitter and ribbon so everyone’s pear looked a little different. Here’s mine:

Shocking that mine is turquoise and pink right?

And here’s a little shot of our group in action. We had a blast!

Winter Wonderland Mantel

I am so excited to share with you all this year’s Christmas Mantel!

I’ve been working hard getting it all together and I love how it has come out!

It has a Winter Wonderland theme – all pine trees and snow and sweet little deers snuggled in!
Ready to see?

Isn’t it pretty?

It’s a leeeetle hard to see though – so let’s take a closer look!

I will confess that this Mantel is Anthro inspired. Shocker right? I was in Anthro a few weeks ago and they had a little shelf all decorated with pine trees and moss and crystal dishes - I just loved it and knew something similar would be so fun to do for my mantel this year!

So I scoured the thrift shops for crystal bowls and dishes – then I did a little faux mercury glass treatment on them.

I used the fail-safe method that Michele used – you can check out her tutorial for super details! The only thing I did differently is that I did my spray painting on the inside of the pieces.

I also glittered up some little deers and set up some winter scenes for them to hang out it.
Warning: Glittering tiny deers can be highly addicting. I am not responsible if you try these, then decide to glitter everything else in your house. You’ll have to decide for yourself if you have the self-control to attempt it.

I found my garland that runs along the mantel at Michaels – 60% off! I wound it through the dishes and then added in some little bunches of moss, and lots of snow!

I love the little scenes set up along the mantel!

One of my other favorite parts is the cedar garland - I found that at Lowe’s for only 11.99! And it was a long enough strand that I cut it up and used it in three places around the house.

So I’d love to know what you think!

Dressing Up A Real Pine Wreath

So every year I put a fresh pine wreath on my front door. It’s kind of become a tradition.

I am always tempted every year by all the wreath cuteness – yarn wreaths, ornament wreaths, burlap wreaths – they’re all so fun. But I just love the way the fresh pine smells every time I walk through the door!

Well this year, I decided to have the best of both worlds and add some fun decorations to my real pine wreath!

Wanna see?

I am soooo in love!

I actually had this deer stuck in the center of my wreath for the last week and a half – and I had been thinking of doing some rosettes in the curve of the wreath, kind of like my Ombre Fall Wreath. But then I saw the felt flowers on the wreaths we featured in last Friday’s Pinterest Feature Friday  and I knew that was it!

So I got busy and made a ton of felt flowers. You can find the Rolled Flowers tutorial on my How to do That – Flowers page – and I’ll be adding the Felt Fringe flower tutorial there later today!

You can see that the fringy flower has a bit of glitter on it. That was a happy little accident! (to channel some Bob Ross for ya) I dropped the flower in some glitter on the table – and realized how cute it looked! So I brushed the tops of the felt with glue and dipped them in glitter. Instant bling!

I found my little glitter deer at HomeGoods, and the white trees are 99 centers from Rite Aid! Wooohooo for cheap decorations!

I had wedged the deer and the trees in the branches of the wreath, they were pretty stable since the wreath was so dense. To hold the flowers in place, I stuck a pearl stick pin through the center, then stuck that through the branches. Since the wreath is so dense, it works well, but you could also glue them in. I wanted to be able to remove and reuse them after this Christmas so that’s why I used the pins.

I love the way the pearl looks in the center of the flowers.

I just placed the flowers in an arch, to follow the curve of the wreath and moved them around until I liked the way it looked.

So easy right?

The glitter flowers look so sweet too! And I think our snazzy deer things they’re sweet too.

Can you tell I’m a little in love? :)

So what do you think?
Have you ever dressed up a fresh pine wreath? I’d love to know what you did!
