About Me

Hey! Thanks for stopping by Flamingo Toes!

glasses2

My name is Beverly – but Bev is fine too. :)
Nice to meet ya.

I hope you’ll have fun looking around and checking out everything – my goal with this blog is for it to be a FUN place.
I’d love it if you find projects you like, posts you think are funny, whatever – and I hope you leave happier then when you got here.
Hokey? Yeah. But true.

I get some questions pretty regularly – so I thought I’d answer them here!

What’s with the name Flamingo Toes?

Coming up with a blog name is a tricky thing. Especially since I didn’t want to be pinpointed to just one thing. I kind of have crafting ADD.
I love to sew. And do embroidery – and make things for my house.
And I wanted to use this blog as a place to post about new things I’ve learned – from you!
So I chose a name that was generic. And fun.
Yes. I like flamingos. They’re pretty fun and kind of quirky. I hope like this blog.
No. I don’t have them all over my house or yard. Balance in all things. :)

What do you do when you’re not blogging?

Let’s see. When would that be?
Just kidding. When I’m not blogging, I am a graphic/website designer. I work from home, which is pretty awesome, so I have a great, flexible schedule.
I’m also a wife and mom – to this crazy crew. They keep things pretty busy around here.

If I’m not doing all that – I’m sort of trying to keep the house clean (not so successful there) or reading, listening to 80′s music, or watching old movies
And sometimes I’m trying to do all of those at once.

Some other random stuff about me. . . .

I’m a bit of a klutz. Ok – you long time readers know that’s a bit of an understatement.

I can make balloon animals. Do you have any skills that you look back on and think, “Why do i know this?” Yeah. me too.

I live next to the ocean but I don’t go in the water.

I’m really shy and I spend a ton of time in “social” media.

I “stumbled” on your blog and boy am I glad I did. Your jewelry making instructions are really clear and easy to follow. As much as I like instructional videos, these are definitely the next best thing, because of the way you present them. I am looking forward to catching up with your blog and all the other things that you do. I’m jealous that you live by the ocean. I was born In Corpus Christi, Texas but was raised in San Antonio, and just don’t have the opportunity to go near oceans or bodies of water much, but I’ve always dreamed of living close to the water. I would love to learn how to make shell jewelry also. thanks for everything and congratulations on your God given talents!
