If you’ve visited Flamingo Toes before, you’ve probably noticed I am in love with all things Vintage. And of course sewing is one of my favorite things as well. So when Indygo Junction got in touch about Amy Barickman’s new line of fabric, Vintage Made Modern, I jumped at the chance to make something out of it!
This fabric is perfect for the sewist – it has fabrics decorated with vintage pattern pieces, sewing notions, buttons, definitions and of course fun coordinating prints like the plaid that I can’t get enough of!
I decided to make up something for my new sewing room (perfect right??) and so I sewed up the Indygo Junction Dresden Pouf pattern! I’ve had a pouf on my sewing list for ages and the idea of a comfy and cute version for my studio was too fun to pass up!
I focused on the pink fabrics for the top and the blue fabrics for the bottom, and I added a little bit of pom-pom trim to the center circle on both sides, just for a little extra touch.
I think it looks perfect next to my vintage Singer don’t you?
I’ll definitely be making up more projects with this fabric – I think the next thing on the list will be some Embroidery Hoop art featuring this sassy gal – she is too stylish and awesome.
I just love how it turned out!
Indygo Junction is having an Ahhhhmazing giveaway as well to celebrate National Sewing Month! There are over $2000 in prizes – including a Babylock Sewing Machine!
