I am all about making my own gift tags this year! They are so fun and easy to do, and you can really get creative with your materials!
I had a lot of fun putting together these gift with some new EZ Start Printed Packaging Tape! I was so excited when I saw this tape, the prints are so retro looking and fun! These were so easy to make up and you can embellish them with anything! Trims, buttons, twine, it all looks cute.
To make your own you'll need:
- Cardstock or store-bought tags
- EZ Start Printed Packaging Tape
- Trim for edges (rick rack, sequins, lace, anything works here)
- Buttons and twine for embellishment
- felt for backing
- extra twine for tying
- glue
Begin by cutting out your tags. I used my Sizzix but you could easily cut them out by hand or purchase pre-made tags. Any size will work! Trim your tape to the width you'd like. I cut mine so there was room at the top of the card for writing, and the bottom of the card for a little trim.
Place your tape on the card and wrap the edges around to the back. If your cards are wider than the tape, turn them sideways and run the tape from top to bottom! That will look just as cute.
Add some rick or other trim to cover the top and bottom of the tape. This will cover any wonky edges and add a little color. Wrap the edges of the trim to the back of the card.
Add some embellishments to the card. Anything works here. I used a little button with a twine bow.
Now cut a piece of felt just a little bit bigger than your card. Punch a hole in the felt so it will line up with the hole on the card.
Glue your felt to the back of the card to cover up all those loose ends.
Now just cut a length of twine and add it to the hole on the card! You're all done. Seriously – how fast and easy was that?!
I made up another set with the other print – these cute peppermint tags were really fun to make too!
I used some vintage gold trim on these and a little pink shell heart button.
These were all so easy to make! I can't wait to start using them on packages this year!
