Spider Glam Halloween Wreath

So in case you missed it, earlier in the week I shared my Witchy Glam Halloween Mantel!

I wanted to share with you a little tutorial on the Spider Glam Halloween Wreath. This wreath is super quick and easy - and it’s full of bling!

It has a sweet little spider and some fancy chains and brooches – something all the coolest Witches are displaying this Halloween!

This really goes together super fast. To make you’re own you’ll need:

  • Grapevine Wreath
  • Black Spray Paint
  • 4 Brooches
  • Assorted lengths of chain
  • Largish Spider
  • Chiffon and Lace strips for flowers
  • Hot glue

Start off by spraying the snot out of your wreath – you want to get it really black. This will take several coats to make sure all the grapevines in the center are covered.
I used glossy so it was nice and shiny – but any black would work.

Create loose fabric flowers. For the Chiffon flowers, cut long strips about 4″ wide. Fold the strip in half long ways and run a gathering stitch along the raw ends. Gather up the strip and then glue the strip onto a small felt circle, swirling the chiffon into layered circles to make a loose flower. Repeat with the lace.

Glue the flowers onto the wreath with the lace flower in the center.

To give the spider a little bling we’re going to do a little spider surgery. Cut a slit in the largest part of the body. (This guy came from the dollar store)

Choose a button with a shank on it and glue the shank into the slit in the spider’s body.
See? I even left glue gun strings there as proof. That was on purpose.

Glue two brooches (or buttons, anything bling-y really) onto the chiffon flowers and glue the spider onto the lace flower.

For the chain portion of the wreath, I wanted to have the option to reuse these brooches later, and that’s hard to do when they’re covered in hot glue.
So I ”pinned” the brooches to the wreath. Just open up the pins and slip them through a few branches, then close them up!
Thread several different lengths of chain through the pins so that they form a little chain swag.

And that’s it!! Super easy right?

I think that chain swag is my favorite part. :)

And here it is on the mantel again!

So I’d love to know – what are you doing for Halloween? Do you change up your decorations every year?
