Our Americana Patio Party!

With Memorial Day this weekend, and the 4th of July around the corner, we decided it was time to do some USA celebrating!

We decided to have a little relaxed party on the patio – it is definitely one of our favorite places to hang out!
So to get ready for our little party we went shopping at one of my favorite stores, Cost Plus World Market!

They have a great Americana section – full of fun vintage styled items. I really loved the large drink dispensers on this display!

We had a lot of fun browsing around. I was pretty distracted by their jewelry displays - they have really fun boho-style stuff.

They have this great Americana bunting – all plaids and denim and stars. And look at these little cushions!!
The fabric is seriously adorable.

Ok. How cute are these little dishes?? I really need these.
Because how fun would it be to serve dinner in little cow and piggy dishes?

Check out these pillows!! They had some made from feed sacks, some burlap, and these on the top shelf from a great ikat fabric.

I love their grocery section too! We were totally in love with these vintage-style sodas – they were perfect for our party!

So we set up our little party on the patio. And we’re pretty laid back. Just some snacks and munchies from Cost Plus World Market – and a great view is all we need!

Here’s our yummy table of treats!

(See those cute little Snack Holders?? I’ve always wanted those! They are so perfect for chips or french fries or other munchies!)

We had a great time just hanging out and relaxing!

Does anyone else have a son (or child) that cannot act normal in photos? I swear – he didn’t even know I was going to take this and he ends up straight-faced and goofy.

The party was a big hit!!

Cost Plus World Market is having a Red, White and Blue in London Sweepstakes right now!! Now there is a prize I would LOVE to win!!

You can enter here – or on Facebook! You can also follow Cost Plus World Market on Twitter too!

What about you? Do you have any casual parties planned for this summer?

This post has been compensated by Cost Plus World Market, but all my opinions are my own of course!

Crafty Swap Awesomeness

Isn’t mail just the best?

Well – not bills. Or kooky catalogs that have creepy bobble heads or sell fake dog doodoo.

But good mail – especially mail with presents in it – is just the best.

I have a new best friend named Emi - from Small Good Things. :)
You might remember Emi – I’ve featured her here a few times before!

We set up a crafty swap a few weeks ago and I can’t wait to show you what she sent me!!

Emi took a recent trip to Japan – so all of her swap items came from there. How seriously cool is that!!
Let’s check out some close-ups hmmm?

I have some really fun fabric - I love these tiny prints! I am thinking jewelry – or a little coin purse – or something else super cool. :)

Washi Tape. I had no idea how fun this stuff was!! Yep. I was a Washi tape virgin. But now I’m hooked.
(I’ll stop the whole analogy there.)

These are some wee tiny little origami papers! How cute are those little butterflies?

And more wee tiny things – these little animals and a tile sticker! Oh – can you see those animals in a little necklace? Or a fun hair clip? I can’t wait to use them.

And last we have a gorgeous Tassel book! I wish I could show you the whole thing – the photos are so beautiful!

These would even make cute earrings!

Wow right? And there are instructions for them all. That Emi crazily enough translated for me! I was just blown away. :)

So anyway – I just wanted to share our fun swap with you! If you want to see what I sent Emi, you can click here.

While you’re there – check out some of her awesome projects – she has a super fun, whimsical style and her tutorials are soooo clear!!
Here are just a few of my favorites – Her Pom Pom Bracelet, the Anthro Sol Pompom Necklace Knockoff, and this amazing Plastic Animal Pin Cushion!!

Thanks Emi!! You are a FABULOUS Pen Pal!! :)
