Crush of the Week – Think Pink Features!

Happy Friday!! Did you have a great week? We are looking forward to a 4 day weekend here. Woohoo!

We had some great links this week – I can’t wait to show off the features!
Remember – Follow the links and Pin from their sites – not from here!

I am in all kinds of love with these adorable Custom Tile Coasters from Nicole at Scrap Me Baby! Aren’t they great?
And her feature has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that in her post she says Flamingo Toes is one of her favorite blogs. Promise. :)

Ashlee from I’m Topsy Turvy is on a crochet roll!! Take a look at the cutest baby boots ever! She made a boy and girl version and she has full tutorial for two sizes!!
Though not my size. I reallllly need those little ruffle ones in a size 7 1/2. Please.

You have to go check out this fabulous Distressed Photo Art from Maggie at Midwestern Sewing Girl! I love the way she distressed the frame – but she didn’t stop there – she distressed the photos too!!
It’s such a fun effect and she has a great tutorial for it too.

I don’t often paint my nails – but this little bow design by Emi at Small Good Things has me very tempted!!
I love the little bows – and her instructions make it sound really easy!

I love this Dresser Transformation by Gertie at the Old Block House! The blue against the white looks so pretty and the distressing is just perfect!
Aren’t those curved sides and drawers great??

Last up we have some deliciousness by Christine at What’s Up Cupcake – her White Chocolate Caramel Cheesecake. Um. Wow.

Another week of fabulous links!! Thanks so much for participating everyone!
If you were featured and would like to show off a button – they are here!

Time for some Highlights of the Week!

Tooting my Horn. . . Ok – so I normally don’t post about super personal stuff – and how much more personal can you get than weight? I was going to keep quiet about my diet – to be honest in case I wasn’t so successful.
But then I changed my mind. I am hoping if I share a little about how I’m doing then I’ll be more likely to follow through, you know?
So – to make a long highlight short – I have been on a low-calorie diet since the second week in January and I’m down 10 pounds. Woot! I’m not going to get all crazy with you and post about it all the time, but I’ll do occasional updates with my progress – more to keep me on track than anything else! :)

Head Injury of the Week – I cracked my head on the corner of the dining room table because I was crawling around on the floor untangling the maze Kato made of an entire spool of thread. Through and around every chair, rung and table leg. Not joking. It looked like a pretty mint green spider web under there. If it had been yarn I could have just left it and said it was our new Anthro rug.

Ready for some Weird Searches??
Someone needs to know “how to make a little pot“. We’re going to assume they’re looking for the kind of pot that holds plants. But this is California. So you never know.
We also had a search for “sewing tutorials for fun“. That’s opposed to all those boring, unhappy and sad sewing tutorials. I hope we don’t have any of those.
Our last search was for “flamingo hot flops”. What is that exactly do you think? Maybe YouTube videos of flamingos trying to fly and wiping out? In bikinis? I don’t know. I don’t think I want to know.

I hope you have a great weekend – see ya back here for Think Pink Sunday!!!

Congratulations on loosing the weight. Something weird happened when I had that minor surgery on my hand. I was supposed to just have the med. in the IV to put me to sleep for a few minutes and then I woke up in the operating room with a tube down my nose. So…….I am going to try to get some weight off.
    Love that frame…..really love it.
Hope your head is okay. That’s something I WOULD DO.

Yay 10lbs!!! Sorry you bonked your head, but did you see stars and tweeting birds? Quick hot glue them to something!

Flamingo hot flops are bright pink pancakes that taste like fish.

Oh my, I’m drooling over all of these features. That distressing window + pictures is incredible!!

Yay for you on the weight loss, Bev!! That’s awesome! I’ve been trying through exercise and smaller meal portions, but the exercise has been hard to maintain for various reasons. I really need to step it up!!

Thank you so much for featuring my nail art, I’m over the moon :) And what a fantastic line up, too!

Also, I had to Google what 10 lbs is in kg, and… WOW! Congratulations, Bev! I know how hard it must be, because… between you and me, I put on 15kg (about 33 lbs?) since I got married 2 years ago (oops…) and has been struggling to shed ever since… Any tips for keeping up your motivation?

I don’t think I’m alone in hoping that head injury of the week isn’t a new feature.

Great blog! I wish I had your will power. I need to loose weight but I always have one thing or the other going with my health and never seem to get it together.

Congrats on the weight loss! Sharing your little triumphs will definitely keep you motivated when you start getting in that rut. I lost about 25-30 pounds last year, but I’ve stopped losing since December…. I guess it’s time to get motivated again. :)

I LOVE your comment about the “little pot”. I live in California, too… and every time I see a cop car in front of a neighbor’s house I’m pretty sure it’s a pot bust. And I don’t mean they’re breaking flower holders. :P

HI there Oh boy talk about torture, being on a diet and looking at a picture of that cheescake? Hope you’re doing great on your diet and if you aren’t then do better tomorrow. Dieting is never easy so give yourself permission to be human.
I’ve been dieting since I was a young woman. When I was born my thyroid didn’t work, keeping slim after having 3 kids in 4 years was a real challenge. I failed that one. Since then it’s been diet, diet, diet. Bummer. Now I’m content with being a little plump. I don’t worry about it anymore. That’s one nice thing about being older, nobody pays any attention to you, lol.
Do the best you can. When you think of eating a no-no, go make something or read a book to your little one.
    Love your blog.
