Crush of the Week – Think Pink Features!

Happy Friday!!

We have some awesome features this week! Ready to see what I’m crushing on?

First up is this ADORABLE Ruffled clutch by Charlie at Attempting Aloha.
She has a great tutorial for the clutch - and she printed the fabric for the ruffles herself on her printer. LOVE!

Amanda from Kaleidoscope of Colors made this gorgeous “Easy as Layer Cake” Quilt! She says it’s super fast to put together.
I love how it turned out!

This Beaded Ribbon Necklace from Whitney at Grassroots Elegance is sooo pretty!! I love the ribbon and beads she used – and she has a super clear tutorial for you too!

How fun is this giant Letterpress Stamp by Michele at The Scrap Shoppe?? It’s so great – she did a fabulous job with the painting – it looks like old metal!!
I think I need one of these. Bad.

These Yarn Wrapped “BOO” letters from Bonnie and Trish at Uncommon are so cute!!
They make me smile.    :) <—- me smiling
I love the wire-y little bats they added – I think they are the perfect touch!!

Holy cuteness – check out these Fruit Bibs from Jen at My Own Road.
Seriously? That little half slice of fruit?? Sigh. Sooooo adorable.

Wow – you guys make it harder every week!! Before too long this Crush of the Week post is going to be 80 features long!! :)
Thanks for linking up!! If you were featured and would like a button – they’re on the sidebar!!

Ready for some Highlights of the Week??

We had Birthday-o-rama this week!
My Mom’s birthday was Monday (Yay Mom!) and my son’s birthday was Wednesday.
If you follow along on Facebook you know that we ate Key Lime Cheesecake and Burned Ribs. We only throw exciting parties around here. (Remind me to tell you about our cake adventures sometime.)
Somehow overnight my baby turned into a funny, tall, creative, crazy 16 YEAR OLD. SoCal Drivers – be afraid. Very afraid.

SoCal Social is in One Week!!
Have you bought your tickets? Come on – you don’t have to be from Southern California. I’m getting a hotel for the night – and I live 45 minutes away. You can drive from Arizona. Or Chicago. (hint hint Rebecca) ;)
The Sponsors are amazing, the Swag is ridiculous, the Giveaways are awesome, and we are going to have So Much Fun. Register. Today.
Next week is devoted to final details like centerpieces, nametag necklaces (you didn’t think we would hand out ordinary old nametags did you??) and craziness. I’m so excited!

Weird Searches for the Week!
This week we had, “clint eastwood feeling lucky punk“. Well. Bet you didn’t know Dirty Harry was a closet crafter. He is. That movie was originally shot with him holding a glue gun. And if you’ve had a glue gun burn (and who hasn’t) you know that’s not an idle threat.
(this is going to make Mr. F.T. roll his eyes at me. You wait.)
We also had “toes sewed together“. Um. Yes. This is a creative blog. And I do love to sew. But I have to draw the line somewhere. This is a good spot.

Well – I’ll leave you with that image in your head.

Make sure you come back for Think Pink Sunday!! I can’t wait to see what you made this week!
Also - if you haven’t entered the giveaway for the $30 credit to The Spotted Umbrella – pop over. It’s closing Saturday Morning!!

Picnic Bag and Quilt Set

I have such a fun project to share with you!

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Pellon (maker of interfacings/Wonder Under/battings, etc) and asked if I would like to be one of their Project Designers!
I was excited to be able to try out some new products – and make something fun!

Want to see what I made?
(I hope so. Since that’s the point of this whole post. ;)

A Picnic Bag and Quilt!! Which you probably figured out by the title of the post. ha.

I’m pretty much in love. And I want to sit by the lake and drink something out of a bottle and eat grapes. Oh wait. I did that.

The picnic blanket is made with this yummy yellow scrolly fabric – and backed with gray houndstooth. Cuteness.
(All fabrics came from Joann’s if you were curious)
The four corners say, “Nosh”, “Snack”, “Eat”, and “Munch”.

I added ruffles – cause on my Ruffle Vs. Ric Rac poll on Facebook – ruffles won. And I think they look mighty sweet.

The blanket folds up and slips in the back pocket of the bag – so on the way to your picnic you can carry your bag with one hand and hold your sweetie’s hand with the other.

The bag is fully lined and insulated with Pellon’s magical Insul-Fleece – so it will keep your food cool or warm.
It also has an insulated inside pocket that may or may not hold a wine bottle. Or a large salami.

Isn’t it fun? I think it would be such a sweet gift too!

So here’s my great news!!
I am, along with Pellon, offering the pattern for the Bag and Quilt – for F.R.E.E!!

How awesome is that?

You just need to pop over to Pellon and download it from there! Here’s the link.
They have you register before you can download – but it is free to register and they don’t sent you any emails. Easy peasy.
And once you register – you can download any of the other projects they have on their site.

They consider the pattern to be “Advanced”. But don’t let that make you nervous. The instructions are written just like all my regular tutorials – and the pattern is easy to redraw if you pick up some Tru-Grid.

So what do you think?? I’d love to know.
Do you go on picnics? Or have you been waiting for a cute bag and blanket and now you’ll go all the time?? ;)

I’m linking to Sunday Scoop, Today’s Creative Blog, Met Monday, Skip to my Lou, Tutorials & Tips Tuesday,  and the other fabulous parties on the sidebar – make sure you check them out!
My little discloser statement: Pellon provided me with their products and the idea for a bag/blanket set  - the pattern design, style, fabric choices and sewing were all done by me. :)
