It’s time for the Crush of the Weeeeeeeek!
(that was my announcer voice)
I hope you are sitting all comfy and ready to spend a long time on the computer today. Do you need a cup of tea? Maybe a cookie. I’ll wait until you get enough to sustain you for an hour or two.
Ok. This week we have some serious awesomeness. If you have visited Flamingo Toes before, you have probably figured out I love doing knockoffs and have a wee crush on Anthropologie. You’re shocked. I know.
But the gal I’m about to feature this week is the Queen of Knockoffs.
(more announcer voice. with an echo.)
This talented blogger takes the original “whatever” and redoes it, makes it better, and looks super cute wearing it. It’s fairly awe inspiring.
Are you ready to dive in?? I’d like you to meet Sarah from Welcome to the Good Life.
You might already have already seen her amazing projects around – she is featured everywhere and was the Guest Blogger for knockoff week of Crafting with the Stars.
Let’s take a look at just a tiny sampling of the amazing things she’s done.
This is a knockoff of the “One After Another” Anthro cardigan that she made from a cardigan and a sweater dress she had on hand. She saved over $100 on this one and she teaches us how to do it. I love all the ruffley goodness.
The inspiration for this one is a J.Crew ruffled flower top. She again raided her wardrobe and came up with a top that I think is better than the original.
And what would a knockoff Crush be without an Anthro necklace??
This is her version of the Marjorelle necklace. Again – Amazing. Gorgeous. Prettier than the original.
Sarah is so talented that she is a finalist in a dress design contest!
She made the dress from a long vintage skirt and it’s so pretty. You can read about it here and vote for her!
I hope you are as impressed as I am.
It will be our little secret that you’ll be spending the day over at Welcome to the Good Life looking at sweater and top and dress refashions instead of what you were supposed to be doing today. :)
Make sure to check back tomorrow for our second Shopping Saturday for lots of Etsy inspiration to get your Christmas lists going!
(that was the last of my announcer voice. I promise.)
