Today is Part 2 of our Road Trip series -
Time for Crafts for Us! :) Even if you have little ones, they’ll nap in the car at some point, which will give you a few moments for crafting fun. Again, I’ve tried to pick projects that don’t take a lot of supplies, or are too messy.
If you’d like to view the kids crafts post, click here. And remember, next week I’ll add a Road Trip Fun button to my site and you can access all the ideas and links from that page all summer.
For the kids I came up with the Paper Robot – for our craft I got the idea from a gift from my friend, Becky. She sent me a great book and bookmark for my birthday. And this bookmark is perfect for making on the road!
Here’s the bookmark I made:
These are super simple. I used about 16″ of ribbon and sewed a jump ring onto each end. I used small hand sewn stitches.
Then I chose beads and threaded them onto some nylon beading cord. I used a focal bead on the end, so I put the cord through that ring, then doubled it and passed it through the other beads.
Then I just knotted it onto the jump ring. If you’re crafting in the car, you could leave it at this point and later when you’re home or in a hotel, you could add a tiny drop of super glue for a little insurance – just to hold that knot.
Super Easy right? I got a little carried away making these – they were really fun. And I think they’d make great hostess gifts if you are staying with family this summer or doing a long stay at a B&B. You could make a bookmark and gift it with a book about where you live.

(That little crown bead says, “A Crown is simply a hat that lets the rain in.” Is that great or what? ;)
So are you ready for more? Here are some other options I found for Road Trip Crafting Fun.
I kind of ended up with a lot of jewelry. But it doesn’t take a lot of supplies. :)
Knitting and Crochet are also perfect car crafts – if you need more ideas there are a zillion free patterns out there – these two sites have a pretty good listing of them.
If you know of a craft that would be perfect for the car, send me an email! We’ll add it to the list. :)

Lovvvve these bookmarks.
Followed A vision to remember. Hope you can visit me over at Pittypat Paperie.
I LOVE those bookmarks! I don’t have a creative bone in my body, but I think I might try to make them…I’ll let you know if I succeed :)
Thank you for visiting my blog! Hope to see you again soon – your blog is a wonderful, creative outlet!
These are so great! They would make perfect stocking stuffers. Would you be willing to post this on my stocking stuffer share-a-long (or give me permission to post it)? I just started my list today and this would make a perfect first or second addition. You can check out the list here:

Have a great weekend!
love those. We will definitely be making some. But not on a road trip. I always pick a book and read out loud to everyone on road trips. My husband won’t let me stop doing that.
Nicely done, I love a good book mark and those are very pretty. I can’t craft or read or do anything but look out the window when I’m riding in the car, or else watch out it isn’t pretty. But I can sing and talk, and tell stories!
I’m dropping by from BNOTP – I’m listed right after you!
Have a good week.

This is a great way to use up odds and ends of supplies. Most of us probably have all that is needed. Love it.
